Sangwoo Kim was born in South Korea, 1980 and is a world renowned ceramic artis based in France. This piece has an extremely complex and time consuming surface. First the form is modelled and coiled in porcelain. Later, a dark blue glaze is applied in stripes, the piece is fired. Later, a lighter blue is applied on top of the stripes and the piece is once again fired. This process it repeated three times and later polished down to reveal the different layers of glaze.
