Jussi Ojala was born in Pudasjärvi, Finland, 1956. Since 1984 he works and resides in Skara, Sweden. Ojala is an internationally acclaimed ceramic artist specialised in natural ash glazes. Over a certain temperature, ash melts creating vivid glaze. Ojala is self taught and has spent the past 40 years experimenting with just this. His work has been exhibited with some of the greatest ceramics galleries worldwide and can be found in important collections internationally. In 2019 Ojala was awarded the 10 year working grant by the Swedish government.
