Visiting Anne Junsjö a breath-taking piece covered completely in dust caught our eye.
Measuring 1000 degrees C, the bowl was pulled out of a hand built outdoors kiln and directly buried in sawdust. Violently bursting into flames the flow of oxygen was cut to a minimum, forcing the fire to pull oxygen out of the clay body and copper-glaze creating a unique, spontaneous and exciting finish. Created in Stockholm using a coarse stoneware clay and reduction fired in her country house, this hand thrown raku tea bowl symbolizes spontaneity and knowledge in the art of ceramics. Enjoy one of Anne’s fascinating creations, fusing art, chemistry and personality into a timeless artefact made to enjoy.
