Imagine life in northeastern Persia almost 1000 years ago. This beautifully calligraphed terracotta plate was a part of everyday life. Probably originating from the Islamic city of Nishapur it has been delicately calligraphed in black on the outer rim and brown on the inside. The plate has been under painted and later over glazed. The condition is excellent with minor damage on the rim.
*The texts are in Arabic and have religious ties.
