Working slowly, allowing thoughts, memories and feelings to transfer into the clay.
Marie Beckman belongs to one of Sweden’s strongest and most recognisable artists in the art of modern ceramics. Presented in the Swedish National Museum her hand built works of art have a refined depth that curiously plays with shadow and light. With over 30 years of finding her voice, Marie has forged her own, strong language and created an array of unique sculptures that defy time. Working with a mature steadiness, she carefully moulds the finer parts of her sculptures and meticulously makes sure the lines, surface and movement of the piece blends together to create a complex but refined whole. With pieces speaking of experience, knowledge and sophistication we are proud to present a handpicked selection of unique works that radiate elegance and personality.
