Discover the elegant work of an experienced dancer allowing his hands and eyes translate the language of the human body into clay.
Experience a large, striking and unique sculpture and be inspired by the effortless elegance that can be enjoyed from every angle. Extensive ceramic studies and work as a coreographer in both New York and Stockholm allow Bo Arenander to create refined works of art that hold a unique movement, mimicking the human body in movement.
Traditionally raku fired in a hand built outdoors kiln, this piece is the largest of it's series, taking several months to create. Explore the cracks in the glaze enhanced by burying the red-hot sculpture in sawdust, resulting in the sawdust catching fire allowing the ash to slip into the cracks. Delve into the unique surface that has been clad with stroke metal and distressed, giving it a unique depth and changing its colors depending on the light.
The sculpture is signed and dated 2014. It was hand-picked by ODEM ATELIER from the artists private collection.
