Over 50 years of perfecting her craft and decades of teaching ceramics have lead to this raku fired bowl that symbolizes perfection in spontaneity.
Inspired by Eastern-Asian tradition the piece has been hand thrown by Anne Junsjö using a coarse stoneware clay. Measuring 1000 degrees C (1800 F), the vessel is pulled out of a hand built outdoors kiln and directly buried in sawdust. Violently bursting into flames the flow of oxygen is cut to a minimum, forcing the fire to pull oxygen out of the clay body and copper-glaze creating a deep and living surface with hints of copper.
Only about 50% of her creations survive the intricate process of a raku firing. Later, each vessel is meticulously inspected by Anne to ensure top quality and appearance where only a few pass her eye. Experience the subtle luxury of this timeless creation.
*The piece is stamped with her signature flower and was hand-picked by ODEM ATELIER from the artists private collection.
