Stefan Andersson (b. 1979) belongs to a rare kind of craftsman. Born into a creative environment he started observing his ceramicist uncle from a young age. Starting an apprenticeship with his uncle at the age of 20, learning not only how to create pottery but more importantly he was taught the ancient Eastern Asian wood firing technique, Anagama. Now 20 years later Andersson is considered to be one of Swedens best contemporary potters, living and working out of the charming town of Leksand. Fired using both Anagama and salt firing techniques, this black/brown pot has a magnificent depth and fading of colors. Also featuring a gold leaf inlay on the rim.
With over 10 years of art related studies, managing classes and courses at the Leksand Academy his knowledge has become a great value for ceramicists internationally.
