A delicate balance between void and matter.
Dorothée Loriquet, was born in 1962 into a family of musicians and artists and grew up in Meudon, Paris. Since her full-time dedication to clay Loriquet has become well known for creating organic shapes that dominate the empty space between the solid forms. After years of gradual experimentation her pieces have evolved into complex works, reminiscent of forms shaped by a process of natural erosion. Completely hand modeled with a precise and delicate touch this tactile three-dimensional stoneware sculpture twists, turns and spirals into a powerful composition of form. This sculpture has no up, down, left or right side and completely changes it’s dialogue depending on how it is presented. Selected by several biennals and international competitions her work has been shown around Europe and can be found in important collections worldwide.
