Marianne Westman (1928-2017) belongs to one of the most acknowledged ceramic artists throughout Swedish ceramic history. Nicknamed "The Mother of Porcelain she was highly active and important for the legendary producer Rörstrand (1950-1971) where she designed some of the most appreciated tableware symbolic for Scandinavian 1950's design. This unique piece, dating to around 1960 is a rare example of Westman's studio pottery. Known for her thick and heavy utalitarian ware this beautiful example is finished off with a deep, crackled, lightly saturated green/blue glaze, reminiscent of water.

*This piece is unique and in perfect condition. Incised "R (three crowns), MW, ATELJE, SWEDEN.
