Mats Svensson belongs to one of Sweden’s most respected and experienced contemporary potters and works with great appreciation to tradition. Strongly influenced by the Japanese language of form his work is heavily influenced by asymmetry and nature.
Taking weeks to create, this stoneware bowl is the result of over 45 years of experience and has been selected among pieces in the artists private collection. Dipped in an iron rich glaze and fired several times creating a lively and slightly metallic surface with a deep red & black color and hints of green, brown, orange and beige.
*The piece has an incised signature “MS” on the base.
