Gifted a second life.
Completely unique and hand carved this conversational piece brings a sense of organic warmth and soul into your home.
Just outside of Hamburg, Germany the Oak tree brought joy to its surroundings for over 300 years. When the tree eventually fell during a storm, the owner of the land contacted Jörg Pietchmann to gift the tree a second life. Taking over 6 months to create, Jörg slowly lets the oak wood crack, giving each piece a naturally unique shape and presence. This stand-out piece lifts any space it stands in and is a perfect way to a sense of uniqueness to your decor.
Sanded, burnt and oiled three times to create a smooth, matte black finish with a distinct depth and beautiful reflection of light. The oil also protects you from the ash, meaning it will not leave any marks or crumble. This large piece is a one-of-a-kind sculpture celebrating nature and craftsmanship. Signed by the artist.
